Democracy Daily is an initiative to utilize the internet for disseminating information and promoting specific candidates for office.
Purpose
Democracy Daily is an all-volunteer group dedicated to preserving American democracy and candidates who support the ideals of the American Constitution.
Democracy Daily will serve as an social media outreach channel using an internet-based repository of memes relating to the 2026 elections. It will focus on (a) educating the public about threats to American democracy, and (b) providing information regarding liberal and progressive policies, and (c ) support for specific liberal and progressive candidates.
Background
Democracy Daily will be modeled after the “A Harris A Day” Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/613417987640841) .
“A Harris A Day” provided a daily, positive meme oriented towards building support for candidate Kamala Harris.
Democracy Daily will use memes in the Five Friends Meme Repository. It will disseminate one meme per day leading up to the 2026 federal elections.
Strategic Focus
Democracy Daily seeks to utilize grassroots volunteer support and free internet channels to disseminate information about democracy in general, current issues, historical artifacts and current candidates.
Content
The content of the meme repository will include a curated set of memes focusing on various topics, such as civil rights, voting rights, women’s rights, health care policy and so on.
The memes accepted under the content policy will be
- Positive in tone,
- Accurate in content,
- Focused on a candidate and/or an issue
Key Tasks and Related Skills
Volunteers with any of the following skills are encouraged to respond via email:
- Gathering existing memes from social media sites.
- Creating memes relating to current and historical events. (Experience with PowerPoint or similar presentation software or experience working with PhotoShops.)
- Analyzing existing memes for conformity to Democracy Daily standards.
- Applying content descriptors to existing memes.
- Publicizing Democracy Daily.
- Participating in a team of volunteers who will post a meme on social media daily.
- PHP coding skills.
Training is available for each of the above aspects for supporting Daily Democracy.
